Back in the ‘60s, it was the United States and Russia who were at war with each other in the arms race during the cold war.
Nowadays, the modern “cold war” involves the United States and the authoritarian countries in the world like North Korea, Syria, Tajikistan, and Turkmenistan—to name a few.
Recently, Elite Readers reported that the United States military has test-fired the LGM-30G nuclear-capable intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) better known as the Minuteman III
.
The Minuteman III is a strategic weapons system that uses a ballistic missile with intercontinental range that can deliver a payload of multiple nuclear warheads to multiple targets. According to a Military website, the ICBM is an “element of the nation’s strategic deterrent forces under the control of the Air Force Global Strike Command.”
The report cited that an ICBM missile has been launched from a U.S. Air Force base in California. The military test-fired it in order to see how effective it is, its readiness, and the missile’s accuracy.
The US army also said that they did it in order to let the others see their nuclear capabilities. The missile was able to fly over 4,000 miles and landed near the Kwajalein Atoll in the Marshall Islands.
The Marshall Islands are a group of volcanic islands and coral atolls in the central Pacific Ocean between Hawaii and the Philippines.
The U.S. Air Force said that they currently have 450 similar missiles in their arsenal, particularly in bases located in Wyoming, North Dakota, and in Montana.
According to the source, “But it’s still more than enough to wipe out enemies all at once from the face of the earth such as North Korea, Russia, and China.”
The above picture shows eight warheads fired from only a single missile.
It continues, “The launch comes amid escalating tensions on the Korean peninsula over the North’s attempt to develop an ICBM capable of striking targets in the continental U.S. with a nuclear warhead.”

Do you think this missle test will serve as a deterrent to North Korean aggression, or will it only aggravate the tense situation? Do you believe that Mutually Assured Destruction (MAD) is a practical solution for avoiding all out nuclear war?
