Straight Routes From Davao To Dubai, Abu Dhabi Is Expected To Be Opened By Emirates, Etihad Airlines!


Overseas Filipino Workers (OFW) may now rejoice. It was expected that the airlines Emirates and Etihad Airways will now have direct routes from Dubai to Davao, following the bilateral talks that Duterte had with the United Arab Emirates officials.  

It was reported by GMA News Online that the Emirates Airlines will directly fly to Davao City while the Etihad Airways would be flying from the capital, Abu Dhabi. This makes it easier and more convenient for the Filipino workers who work in the United Arab Emirates

The report quoted the official statement that was released by Philippine Airlines (PAL), which would be the official carrier of the passengers flying to Dubai and Abu Dhabi, if possible. 


Emirates and Ethiad Airlines Will Now Have Straight Routes From Davao to Dubai While Abu Dhabi Is Expected Soon!

A representative of PAL said, "The talks are expected to be successful in obtaining the commitment of the two biggest UAE airlines to launch a historic milestone:  the first regular direct flights between the UAE and Davao International Airport.”  

The statement continued that the new flights “would cement the increased standing of the Mindanao region as an emerging tourism hub and economic engine in its own right, in addition to its longstanding role as the country’s agribusiness center." 

The report stated that the new routes would greatly lessen congestion at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) located in Pasay City, mainly the flights from Dubai.  

It also mentioned that both the Emirates and the Etihad Airways have already planned combined operational flights of 35 routes in a week.  

In addition to this, the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) was also reported to establish a One Stop Service Centers for the OFWs throughout the country so they could easily manage their respective documentary needs.  

Currently, PAL and Cebu Pacific offers a combined weekly 17 flights from Manila to the United Arab Emirates. They also have routes to Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and Qatar.
