In the Sintomas I-text Mo segment of TV5’s news show, a 40-year-old fish vendor named Mina Castro asked about her fading libido.

She said:

“Ako si Mina Castro, 40 years old at tindera ng isda dito sa Sta. Cruz, Laguna.

Problema ko po yung mister ko na isang construction worker madalas po siyang mangalabit sa gabi yung nga lang po madalas wala akong gana kahit pa manood kami ng porn wala pa ring epekto.

Dr. Gary Sy, the Medical Director of The Life Extension Health & Wellness Center, had this to say.

Dr. Sy stated that the libido of a man is different from that of a woman. When a man is stressed, s*x is a release for them. Women, on the other hand, are usually not into s*x when they are stressed.

The doctor also said that lowered libido could be caused by taking contraceptive pills or it could be a symptom of a thyroid disorder.

Additionally, he said that women can eat “mood enhancers” but suggested that the caller should consult a doctor in person first.
